Matthew Wolfenden - In the Press

Emmerdale newcomer Matthew Wolfenden has caused quite a stir in the Yorkshire Dales since his arrival - and he's hoping to have the same effect on Soapstar Superstar.

As shaggy-haired hunk David Metcalfe, the 24-year-old actor has already has a legion of admirers but now says he's ready to reveal more of himself - watch out, ladies!

"It will be good for people to see me as Matthew and not David," he says. "Although the whole idea of singing as myself is different and quite scary."

Not that he needs to worry. Having appeared in musicals like Saturday Night Fever, Godspell, and Romeo and Juliet, Matthew is used to performing live.

Matthew's TV work includes Channel 4's drama series The Courtroom and Hollyoaks spin-off Let Loose.

Ever the performer, Matthew is also skilled in ballet, jazz and contemporary dance. Not only that, he can juggle and stilt walk too!
